In 1995 Gary Harpole opened Heartland Lodge to showcase the beautiful terrain that Pike County has to offer. Over the past 29 years he grew Heartland Lodge to one of the premier destinations not only in Central Illinois but in the Midwest for outdoor recreation. Tim Duools recognized that and knew it was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up. Late last year Tim purchased Heartland Lodge from Gary and has plans to continue to expand the legendary service and experience that guests get when they visit Heartland Lodge. Tim recently took some time out of his schedule to talk with our Pike County CEO students about his business experience and how he has grown through business over the years. There is no doubt that Tim is going to take Heartland Lodge to great places and continue to showcase what central Illinois and Pike County has to offer.
